The Uh Oh Doll
from
Nancy Baumiller's blog "regardless of her differences she still smiles and has a heart just like all of us....She was purposely made this way.....That no matter what our appearances we are wanting and needing love just as much as the next person"
Says it all really
First Test of Nerves has gone!
Soemone crumbled VERY quickly! Hopefully she might send me a pic of something she makes incorporating items from the package I sent her - that would be fab!

Test of Nerves
OK - I admit it, I have far, far too much stuff! So, I am going to do a goody bag but with a twist.
I am going to have an envie / box that I will add at least one item to every day. Whomever PMs me will get the contents - the twist of course is that the longer you wait, the more you will get - unless someone else gets in there first. To make it worse, I'm going to post this on other groups as well as my blog...... so can you bear to wait?
I have 5 things in the envie to start with.....

Bursting with pride
I got a postcard from Maz today. She'd been to visit
Kari to see her final degree show. The postcard made me cry, not because of me wanting to have been there (though I had) or anything that was written on it, but because I was just so damn proud that my friend and her fabulous work has been recognised in this way.

Just gotta try it some day
Berry Ink & Quill Pens
Berry ink ingredients:
½ C. Ripe berries (blueberries, cherries, blackberries, strawberries, elderberries, raspberries, etc.)
½ Tsp. Vinegar
½ Tsp. Salt
Fill a strainer with the berries and hold it over a bowl. Using the rounded back of a wooden spoon, crush the berries against the strainer so that the berry juice strains into the bowl. Keep adding berries until most of their juice has been strained out and only pulp remains. Add the salt and vinegar to the berry juice. The vinegar helps the ink retain its color and the salt keeps it from getting too moldy. If the berry ink is too thick, add a tablespoon of water. Store in a baby food jar. Only make a small amount of berry ink at a time and, when not in use, keep it tightly covered.
Quill pen ingredients:
A large feather (find your own or purchase one from a craft store)
Craft knife
Paper
Berry ink
Paper towels
Use a craft knife to cut the tip of the feather at an angle. Carefully, cut a slit in the tip. Dip the feather into the berry ink. Dab the end on a paper towel. Repeat as needed. Now, write your masterpiece just like the pioneers did!

Custom Made Toilet Paper
Liquid Shirts: Custom Made Toilet Paper
Oh how fab would this be? I had to laugh at the thought of this question in the How to Order section
'4. Is there is an absolute "In Hands" date?'
Prices are a bit much for me, but I can dream! Wonder if there is someone in the UK that does such a thing?

Techniques Chunky Books
It's done! The Techniques chunkies went in the post today. Sadly without Mellie's contributions - lost in the ether somewhere maybe?
I can't show pages until I know people have received their 16 square inches of loveliness, but I can show the spines, complete with the hidden comb binding I devised. Well, it should have been, but I had to change the plan slightly in case the missing pages turned up, so the combs are still accessible from the inside. Given the new way I'll be running the quotations chunky, I shouldn't have that problem

Go on, you know you want to!
Hostess: Me!
Participants: max 30 - across different boards/groups
Sign-up and payment by: 31st May
Status: sign ups
Completion: 31st July
Details:
Chunky book - Theme 'Words to Live By'
Make a 4 x 4 page on the theme of your favourite inspirational quotation. You will need to make as many pages as there are artists. That means if the swap is full you will have to make 30 pages.
Artists who sign up are asked to contact me for my address, in order for them to provide a £5 payment before the sign up closes, covering all UK postage, binding and base materials. After that time I will send the correct amount of prepunched pages to each paid up participant (thus enabling more 3D work to be included). I will accept completed pages up to but not beyond the closing date and will not give a refund if a player fails to send their pages within the dates specified.
Once received, I will collate and comb bind the books and return them to each artist.
If any non UK players wish to participate, please contact me privately

Quandry
I'm in a quandry - again - with rubber - again. I bought some UMs from Ma Vinci and, just like when I bought some from Creative Chaos, I'm not sure whether to leave them as is or cut them apart:
both the background numbers and the foreground cancellations are on the plate as is. Oh decisions, decisions. This is a deco entry in one of Flo's books by the way

Chocolate Deities: Venus of Willendorf
Chocolate Deities: Venus of Willendorf
I'm almost desperate for one of these. Imagine a dark chocolate one of these - fabulous!
Two ancient deities tug at my heart strings in a way that I can't explain. The Venus (and I had the pleasure of seeing her in Birmingham last year) and the Green Man. Something deep in me responds to these images, so to have one of them in edible form - wow!

Busy weekend
When aren't they?
So I feel like I've totally neglected my blog and want to post loads of pics, but DS comes home feeling nauseous and hot - uh oh.......
Until I get back, here's a great manifesto - I wish I knew where I had picked it up from - oh yeah after breaking to Google - aisling.net
