Serbian Proverb

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”

Hand made in chunky silver, this shawl pin converts to a pendant and it's all my own design

The scarf it's shown against is knitted in the softest yarn I've ever felt - Filatura Di Crosa Superior - 70% cashmere & 30% silk.

So, inspired by lovely morsbaggers creating beauty outside of morsbags, I reacquainted myself with my sewing machine to make some new place mats.

I remembered how to do quiting as I go and make continuous bias binding. As for the bias binding maker - I was so tickled by how wonderful it was!

Unfortunately my mitred corner mojo has deserted me completely, so I contented myself with wonky rounded corners, reasoning that these things are made for use, not ornament!

Finally, feeling better

I've been feeling rubbish with a chest infection and didn't appreciate that I was getting better until I finally had the energy to do a bit of housework. Not my favourite thing to do, but I feel so much happier having picked a few things up that I've got on with a few crafty things that have been hanging around. More on that later when I take a few photos

Revelation

Today I went to Harrogate for what I thought was a knitting show, only to be pierced through the heart with a visceral reaction to one woman's art: so strongly was I affected, I found myself sobbing in the artist's arms, rendered inarticulate by the complex emotions her works inspired

If you ever get a chance, please, please see the sinister, moving beauty of Rozanne Hawksley's work for yourself
